The Phoenix Gun specializes in trapping jumping foes. Its fast ground shot can bring side-stepping aerial opponents down to the ground. The military version is the Carat Gun.
Fire it while camping behind a protective structure at the enemy. This strategy keeps the enemy at a distance and prevents them from attacking close-range. A fast bomb such as the Charge Bomb placed between the rounds is even more dangerous. An opponent who specializes in close-range weapons such as the Knuckle or Magnum is basically doomed against this strategy.
Avoid jumping sideways, and either stay between the gun rounds or predict when shots come so you can jump clear.
