  • On the wiki is there a place where I can experiment with a template, like make my own. I was gonna start with that Battles Idea I told you about a few months back and if you're all for it I'd like to show u what it would look like.

  • Hey there. My name is Nic and I'm a member of Wikia's Community Development Team! Are you interested in joining the Nintendo Wikia Webring? We created a custom footer that can be embedded on the main page. These webrings help bring cross-traffic across multiple wikis on our site, and can help bring you new viewers and editors!

To embed the template, use this code { {w:NintendoWikisFooter} } - remove spaces between braces. To preview how it looks click here.

    Thanks!

  • Do you know how source ode would work on an iPad?

  • Edit in source mode?

    • I assume you are using default settings...in any event, there should be two tabs labeled "Visual" and "Source" on the right upper-hand corner of the editing space.

  • It has the same problem as previously with the Swift page. Do you have any idea. As to what"s going on ?

  • Hey man thanks for welcoming me to the wiki so warmly, I was wondering if I could put a disclaimer before sets are listed under the robo's pages, something like:

The following set info is purely user made, these sets are by no means...

Anyway yeah i'd like your input on the idea and maybe an idea as to what to put at the end of it.

    Thanks man.

  • First, sorry for posting on your wall so much lol! I just have a lot of innovation for this wiki!

Anyways, check out Ray 01, Splendor, and Glory, to see the images I posted there. Pretty awesome huh? :)

I can get photos like that for every single robo, and every single robo part if you'd like! (Only for the GC version, MAYBE others)

For the robos, I just have them equipped with basic parts.

    • This is fine, but if there is an existing image or images on the page, preferably keep the best or most recent included in the infobox. Anything else can remain below in an images section, with the exception of very poor quality images.

    • I understand. Too bad they don't have high quality development art for every robo! So like... only Ray. So basically, (out of the GC Custom Robo robos) Ray is the only one that has a HD Development-Pic, and all the others don't really. I will get a picture for all of them. Thank you Limxzero!

  • Hello Limxzero! I noticed a few things with this wiki's robo page format.

I saw how there were: Strategy, Sets, and Notable Users. In my opinion, this format is extremely biased, and not good for the wiki. Pages on Wikia need to be unbiased, informative, and closest to an very accurate description as possible.

I think a good format for Robo pages could be: Description (the description of the robo from the game), Characters in the game who use that robo, and Trivia. I'll edit a Robo page now, and show you what I mean.

Have a good one! :) --TheGunther You sittin' on my bench? 19:29, April 7, 2013 (UTC)

    • I edited Buggy.

Edit: Oops! I didn't realize you already had the description and collision typed into the infobox! My bad! Do you think that should stay in the infobox, or be removed?

Infoboxes are meant to be simple, short, and easily read. Having a large infobox could cause 2 major problems: 1. It could be confusing to the reader if it's too big. 2. It could make the original page smaller! A "good-sized" page in Wikia's rules is over 300 bytes. If the infobox has everything you need, what do you put into the actual page? I think the infobox couls be shortened a bit, and have the Information/Collision put into the main page.

Go ahead and look at Buggy, and see what I mean :)

Also, I am very experienced with customizing wikis, CS, Java, Coding, and about everything else! If you need any help, I sure can help :) Also I think the look of the wiki could be changed a bit! It looks a bit bland. And I noticed how Admins here are called "Bounty Hunters" and I know how to code that into a profile, so instead of it saying "Admin" it'll say "Bounty Hunter"

You're the admin, not me, so correct me if I have messed with the format of the wiki! :)

    • Lastly, I edited the Robo template, was that okay? I added a better system for adding photos. Once again, see Buggy to see what I did. To add the photos just do this in source mode:

    • Suggestions and improvements are always welcome. The infoboxes do still need a lot of streamlining and should be considered a work in progress. As for page sections, there is room for argument that "notable users" strays somewhat from the traditional spirit of a wiki. However, strategies and sets, though having the potential for wide degrees of opinion, can still be accounted for in an full, informative manner.

    • After reviewing the matter further, I agree on keeping the strategies and sets, but I think there should be a warning template stating that all strategies and sets are opinionated, and not posted by official Custom Robo affiliates. I can whip up a template like that, and see if you agree with it.

  • On some games wikis like this one I noticed that they they have information on the opponents. Like on Pokemon if you were to face a gym leader they would list that person's Pokemon along with their lv's and rewards. I was wondering if something similar could be used with us listing the robo along with the their parts at that time along with the parts you would receive after (or no part at all. I'd be willing to do the work. Just a suggestion.

Oh may I suggest a base for the character pages? Like we try listing things like their Background, Character History,Personality and Abilities?

Also I'm curious what does your username reference? I had a guess but I'm not really sure

    • Another thing do you have any idea how the CR timeline works? I've discussed this with friends but it seems so unclear.

Have you heard the recent news of a very very slight tiny chance of a new Custom robo game? It isn't much but hey.

Sorry I keep posting separately, oh and who would you rather have as a Custom robo representative in the next Smash Bros game?

    • In sum, edit freely, and the more content that is accumulated will determine what path an article or articles needs to go.

The featured things on the homepage are really quite loosely decided by me. On larger wikis, well-written and good-sized articles get featured. Here, there is little selection, so it doesn't get changed much. The quote of the moment was created by a former Robopedia admin, and I haven't maintained it much. It is a bit of a gimmick, but users may add to it as long as the entries are accurate.

Yes, the character template is a bit geared toward CRA. I have dabbled in tweaking one (separate) template for dynamicity when it comes to showing or not showing table sections, and I hope to eventually add this to all the game content templates.

From what little I've gathered from the pre-Battle Revolution games, in my opinion, the timeline is either piecewise or nonexistent. Coinciding plot details are few and require a bit of imagination. For example, there are recurring characters such as Angelica and Marv. However, Marv for one has different pets in different games. This may or not be a la Cid, like with Final Fantasy. Now events and technology...e.g. the Robo Cup or the Ray 01 robo. These seem to be separate instances in each game thanks to the history, the numbers, etc. Now aspects like obtaining custom robo parts--part generators in Revolution, shops in CRA; this infers a huge gap in technological advancement (or not) side-to-side with things unchanged, leading me to believe the universes don't cross. I could go on and on, still not changing the fact that this is conjecture, so as you can see, all of it is pretty open to interpretation. Sometimes, timelines are meant to be disjointed and nebulous, like Zelda.

Not other than mild rumors of a Wii [U] title generated by fans, no. The developing company is a small one, but replaceable due to Custom Robo's relatively minor influence.

Ray Sky would be nice to see. A long shot to hope for any robos to be non-trophies, but still, anything with a pretty charge attack could be cool.

  • Yo, hey, it's been a while. You probably didn't recognize me at first, I can't log into my old account so I made a new one ^^. I used to be startimer, but I don't use that name anymore so it's all good. Sorry about just dissappearing last time. You may have even forgotten about me by this point :p It's okay if you did, I understand. Anyway, that may happen again but hopefully it won't, but for now I'm just gonna start helping out again.

EDIT: Well, a lot has certainly changed while I was gone. I guess I have to take a good look around to see exactly what needs done before I edit anything. Anyway, if there's anything you want from me just ask, I'm gonna browse around for awhile and hopefully start editing tomorrow.
